2024, here we go!

Hello again! Here we are in 2024. Every autumn we tell ourselves that we won’t add any new farm projects to our schedules for the following year, yet, we always manage to add at least three. The truth is, we love projects and we have so many ideas for the farm.

We have a lot of fun ventures in store for 2024.

First, we have been installing a lavender field! We will have a variety of options including Folgate, Melissa, Royal Velvet, Edelweiss, and Grosso varieties. Some are fantastic culinary varieties, while others make beautiful, fragrant dried bouquets and essential oils.

We are also trying our hand at growing cut-flowers for bouquets. These will be sold mainly through an awesome new business called West Sound Floral Exchange, ran right here in Olalla by a fellow farmer (Jodi Logue, owner of Moss and Madder Farm). This business is a ‘farmer to florist’ organization which provides local florists with fresh, local blooms and greens.

This year we will have plant starts available for purchase! Availability will be limited, so check back regularly to keep up to date on what will be available and when you can purchase them. An email newsletter is in the works!

We will have some new animal additions to our farm this year: honeybees and ducks! Although we do not anticipate having any surplus honey this year, we will potentially have duck eggs for sale. Stay tuned!

For now, we have t-shirts, sweatshirts, reusable shopping bags, stickers, and lip balm available to purchase on our website (order online & pick-up at the farm). But as we enter the new season, we will be sharing a running ‘fresh sheet’ of what edible items we have available. These will be posted on our blog, on our Instagram, and in our newsletter (still in the works).

Thank you for catching up with us! We are looking forward to sharing our endeavors, and hope to see you at the farm this year.

Spring is Right Around the Corner!

Hi all! All of us here at Sound Grown Farm are eagerly awaiting the official start of Spring. The daffodils are in bloom, the cherry blossoms are starting to pop, and the variety of bird songs that can be heard are all signs of the turning of winter to spring.

We made the decision to take the winter off to focus on family and to dive into some serious farm planning (stay tuned!), but we have a few spring crops currently growing, and more on the way.

Our online store is in the works! We are currently set-up for customers to place orders online and pick them up at the farm, and we plan to add shipping options for select items. In the near future, we will have a farm stand at Sound Grown Farm where produce and other items can be purchased in-person, and we may be making appearances at a local farmers market. As always, we can also be found at Kitsap Fresh!

We are excited for what 2022 has in store for us at Sound Grown Farm and we hope that you will check us out and follow us as we grow - we have big plans!

Stay tuned & stay well!
